Christmas Love
© 2005 by Susie Krauter
In a little town
There’s a little house
Set in fields white with snow
There’s a rocking chair
And a ticking clock
And a woman all alone
She dreams of the days
When the children played
Life and laughter filled the air
Her husband held her close
He made his heart her home
Christmas love was everywhere
It was the time for evergreens
And tinsel and toys
For girls and boys
Christmas carol symphonies
An’ warm memories
An’ makin’ angels in the snow
Time for gramma’s Christmas soufflé
Caroling late in the day
An’ the story of the Great King
By the fireside,
Heart in heart with Christmas love
To a little town
To a little house
Roads covered with snow and ice
We’ve been drivin’ long
Hope to get there soon
We’ve got to string her house with lights
She’s got a Christmas wreath
Oh hear the doorbell ring
Joy & tears stream from her eyes
We just had to come
It wouldn’t be the same
Without you in our lives
It’s the time for evergreens
Tinsel and toys
For girls and boys
Christmas carol symphonies
An’ warm memories
An’ makin’ angels in the snow
It’s time for gramma’s Christmas soufflé
Caroling late in the day
An’ the story of the Great King
By the fireside,
Heart in heart with Christmas love
Mama’s in the kitchen
I smell gingerbread and spice
Daddy’s lightin’ candles
An’ we’re singin’ silent night
Matthew’s got another candy cane
An’ the baby’s fast asleep
It’s the time for evergreens
And tinsel and toys
For girls and boys
Christmas carol symphonies
An’ warm memories
An’ makin’ angels in the snow
It’s time for gramma’s Christmas soufflé
Caroling late in the day
An’ the story of the Great King
By the fireside,
Heart in heart with Christmas love
